Freemasonry places a strong emphasis on charity, with members engaging in various charitable activities throughout the year.
One notable initiative is the District-wide Masons Helping Kids Coat Drive, which provides hats, gloves, coats, and boots to children in need at no cost. This ensures they stay warm during the harsh, snowy winters of northwestern Pennsylvania.
Additionally, lodge members from across the District come together to offer free courtesy shuttle services at the Crawford County Fair, held annually for 10 days in August. This service is greatly appreciated by families with small children, the elderly, handicapped individuals, and others, as it spares them from walking long distances to and from their cars, municipal bus stops, or different parts of the Fair.
“Helping one person in the world may not change the world, but it might change the world for that one person. “
Freemasons also volunteer in numerous other charitable endeavors within the community and beyond. From assisting at local soup kitchens and centers for the aging, ringing the bell for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Fund Drive during Christmas, serving as firefighters, first responders, or law enforcement officers, to participating in church missions to third-world countries, Freemasons are everywhere helping everyone!
